"Action" of the Day

I know we normally do the Quote of the Day around here, however, today something hilarious happened during 4th period that was not a quote but I feel merits recognition anyway. So, here is the Action of the Day.

It is fourth period Science with Dr. Dowling. Adam has just decided that he no longer needs a piece of scrap paper, crushes it into a ball, and begins to throw it at the trash can. Keep in mind, however, that this can is around fifteen feet away from the desks.

Adam misses the trash can. The paper ball, which bounced off the wall and then the edge of the can, has landed near the lab table at the front of the room.

Dr. Dowling
"Adam, please get that at the end of the period."

Adam (already getting up to retrieve the ball)
"Oh, come on..."

Dr. Dowling
"Fine, whatever."

Adam, from around six inches away goes for a dunk... and misses hopelessly. In the meantime, the paper manages to fly across the room and land behind the aforementioned lab table.

The class has a good laugh at Adam's expense while he grabs the ball once more and finally places it in the trash can.

Dr. Dowling (after Adam has sat down)
"Can I continue teaching the class now?"

Adam
"Yes, by all means, continue."
